I liked the people at Grossmont Gardens. My mother moved in there. Everybody was really friendly and really helpful. The rooms were really nice. There is a lot of light and trees around there. It was just a really beautiful setting for my mom. There are people in and out, helping her all the time. Before she went in there she was very depressed, and now she is just so happy. Every time I walk in the room she has a smile on her face, and we sit there and talk about the people who are helping her, and she is so excited. She loves the food. I had one meal there with her, and it was very good. The dining room is very pleasant; it has a lot of outside light, so the rooms are well lit and have nice views. It's only fifteen minutes from me. It's close to everything; the hospital's right there. There's all kinds of shopping right by her. It's all within a fifteen-minute drive.

I toured Grossmont Gardens. It is a very old facility with limited amenities. It is clean, but not to me. It is very institutionalized, like a hospital. I don't really care much for that. They have a garden between the buildings. They have a dining room, a recreational room, and a TV room. I think that was about it.

My mother was miserable there. The other residents looked out for her more than the staff. She was always afraid of getting in " trouble". Staff called to complain about her five times a week. I didn't understand why until a staff member told me they need to establish a record to evict her. I didn't know that a patient could be evicted with one day notice. But, that is what they did. Until we could find another place they demanded that we pay for 24 hour care 1:1 at an additional $700 per day.

I went to Grossmont Gardens last March. We have a relative there. It's well maintained, and we like that it has a good variety of levels of care, which was staged care. The staff was friendly. Some of the rooms needed to be modernized, but they're adequate. It's clean, it had a nice outdoor space, and they've got amenities. Everybody was really helpful.

My mom has been at Grossmont Gardens going on three months. The experience has been great. My mom is getting better. She is socializing well with the people there. The place is great. It's a good facility. It's clean, and the people seem to really care. They have apartments. They're limited now because of COVID, but they have bingo, they have a bunch of stuff with it. They're doing good. They do a good job, but they have a lot of steps to do when COVID is lifted. It's a great value.

Grossmont Gardens was fine. The place was a little old and dated though. We were not interested in it. The staff members were friendly; there was no problem there. The grounds were nice but the place could use a little upgrading. The rooms were adequate; the place was all adequate. They have very nice grounds and an apartment kind of feel to it with plenty of open spaces.

We went to Grossmont Gardens. We were most impressed with it. They had nursing care as well. It was fairly large, very organized, professional, and sort of a corporate take. The sales staff was very friendly as well as professional. They have transportation to doctor's appointments and daily activities. The place's cleanliness was good.

My father-in-law just got his keys to Grossmont Gardens. I love it, they're very kind, and very personable. The staff that I've seen has been very on top of everything because we've had to go back several times and each time we speak to different people. Each person has done everything we wanted them to do. The living atmosphere is perfect and the room is fine. It's 600 sq. ft.,so it's a tiny place, but it will work for one person and a cat. We tried the food, it was good, and the dining area was very clean. It's very well organized and everybody felt at home. They have bingo, movie nights, and they take them out shopping once a week.

She's very happy at Grossmont Gardens. It's been excellent and she loves the food. The staff is excellent and they're wonderful. They're nice and friendly. They have a lot of activities going on. They have a swimming pool and they play bingo. The value is excellent.

My aunt is in Grossmont Gardens and she's in hospice. We chose it because they have multiple levels of care. They have everything from assisted living right through nursing home hospice. The staff has all been very good. She's in a shared room right now. It's an older facility, but it's well-kept and clean, neat, and organized. The grounds are well-kept, and there are a lot of open areas and garden areas.

We chose Grossmont Gardens, and it was among the more reasonable places to live. Mother really likes living there. The people are great, the food is good, and they have a lot of activities. She moved into the assisted living. They have crafts, all kinds of card games, and Bingo. They have movies available, a church onsite, and exercise classes that residents can go to. They have a variety of good, quality food. She thinks the portions are too big, but she can ask for smaller portions, and she does that. She's happy living there.

My mom has been in Grossmont Gardens since Friday and so far, everything is working out wonderfully. The food is good, and she is very happy. They have lots of classes, like exercises for the brain, and then they also take them on tours on Thursdays and Sundays. They were taking a bunch of people on a tour when I was there, and it was really nice. All of the people are very knowledgeable, informative, and very helpful when you are in a position of not knowing what you are doing.

CNA's took over 30 minutes to answer call light week of March 10-17, 2017 at 7 PM in Vintage Area. When I went to find them they were both sitting doing nothing but ignoring beeping lights. Gave me an attitude when I asked them to answer my friends call for help. They came into room and acted like they were doing my friend a favor by helping her.

My mother-in-law is in Grossmont Gardens now. Our overall experience is good. They are attentive and have been very good. The caregivers are always there when you need them. The food is adequate, and the activities are appropriate for a skilled nursing facility.

The staff at Grossmont Gardens was really friendly, and the units were on my in laws price range. It's beautiful, peaceful, and calm. The lunch that they served us was really good, and that's one of the main things they are looking forward to.

My husband is doing hospice at Grossmont Gardens, and it's fine. It's a little expensive for me, but I had no choice. The staff is very nice. My husband is sharing a room, and the common areas are clean. The food is OK; it's not like home food, but it's OK. My husband is getting 24/7 care, but sometimes they are short of staff.

Overall, we were impressed with Grossmont Gardens, and I think we would have gone with it if my mother wanted to stay there. The one negative was that depending on what unit you get, you could be a long way from the dining room. It didn't seem built specifically for the elderly, and it seemed more like a hotel that had been converted.

I like the greenery around the gardens at Grossmont Gardens. That's something that my mother likes. She's on the bottom floor, which is very helpful rather than having to use an elevator. She likes going to their dining room, and there are plenty of activities for her to do. She seems very pleased. They have a happy hour where they get together and meet other residents. She can go to any table that she wants in the dining room. They have pool activities, outings that they can go on the bus, and movies. I would say that housekeeping has done a wonderful job, and the nurses that come to visit her to give her her meds and take her daily weight are all very friendly. Everybody is always greeting everyone. They serve three meals a day.

My husband is at Grossmont Gardens. They take good care of him, and he is not easy to get along with, so they have their hands full. He seems to be OK eating their food. The rooms are fine. Right now, he is by himself. This is his fourth facility he has been in, and this is one of the nicer ones. Everybody smiles and says hello. The staff is fine and doing a good job.

I'm NOT as impressed with Grossmont Gardens. The only reason I moved my mom in there is because at that time we thought she was well enough to stay in assisted living with her cat. She was able to keep her cat there, but I didn't want to keep her there after it was obvious that she couldn't stay there. She was only there for a day, and a half until she was moved to the hospital. It definitely needs remodeling, and the staff was not as personable, and caring. It was more of a business, and almost felt like a dorm room sort of a situation. It's not as nice; not as pleasant. The dining area looked okay. It was not as clean, not as personable, and it didn't feel like home.

Grossmont Gardens was very large. It was probably the largest place we visited. One big downside to them is they move assisted living people from one building to another if their level of care changes, and I could not have them moving my mother potentially through four different buildings. Also, it was a little bit hospital-like. The staff was a little standoffish, too. They didn't seem to try to get to know the people. I would describe them as professional, though, just not warm, friendly, or outgoing. They're just there to do their jobs. It is like going into any office. The facility was clean and well decorated for the holiday. They had every activity you could imagine. It's so big, so there were tons of activities.

Grossmont Gardens was very nice. The rooms were not private rooms, and we did not like that. The staff did not seem that attentive when we visited the living area, as far as checking on the people and making rounds. The facility was pretty; we just did not like the lack of personal security.

I visited Grossmont Gardens for my mother. Before we started, everybody was supposed to be notified that I was coming, but they didn't have me on the books to come. The staff was still very polite, though, and helped me. I was welcomed graciously by the person who showed me around. I found the exterior to be pleasant. The rooms were of a good size. I felt comfortable having nursing care available on-site, which was assuring. They seemed to have good safety features, and the place was clean. It seemed to be a good fit for my mom. A positive thing about this facility was that different, good care options were available. They have a swimming pool and nice dining room areas.

My friends are living at Grossmont Gardens. It is very pleasant and comfortable. The people are nice and helpful. If you live in the one-bedroom alone, it will be very spacious, but we have two people and a dog in a one bedroom because there are not any two-bedroom available right now. It is a little bit tighter, but it works. The apartments are very attractive. Even upstairs, we have a balcony and a bathtub. People can just sit outside because there are gardens all over the building with lots of fresh greeneries, flowers, trees, and shades. It is a very pleasant location. You can take a walk. It is nine acres, so there are plenty of places to walk. They have a bus trip once a week. They go out for shopping and doctors a couple of times a week. They have a variety of things. You have to check the schedule and see what is happening. There is a dance class, an ice cream social, guest musicians, and a lot of different things like that going on. There are not a lot of personal things. It is an older place, and there are a few things that I think are missing that will help people be accustomed to be there to make friend, but the facility is kept up, and when you call someone to repair something, they come promptly and have it fixed. Everything is clean and fresh when you move in. Grossmont is better for people who have special needs or quite elderly, and they need people to come help them.

He was at Grossmont Gardens. His room was a studio apartment, and it was nice. He had a small refrigerator. We were able to bring his things into the room. I felt the staff was not adequate. Sometimes they have one caregiver for 25 people. The food is very good. He is able to go to a nice dining room and order off a menu, and that was very nice. They have a salad bar; I ate there several times myself, and it was good. I would recommend this place. They have a shuttle van that takes the residents to outings a couple of times a week. They also have bingo and all sorts of things to do.

We went to visit The Grossmont Gardens, and we found out that the staff was nice and accommodating. Everything was very lovely except that we are not ready to move yet. They were very pleasant, and it was everything that you would want, but we also could not afford it. Their rooms are very nice, and it has a large closet. They had a library discussion going on when we were there, and their dining room is beautiful.

I visited Grossmont Gardens, and it was very clean. Everybody we met seemed to be very professional. It's a lovely facility as far as the physical aspect of it. We got to meet two or three staff members, and they were very friendly. It was very clean and very well-kept. We are not going to pursue that because my dad felt it was out of his budget. They showed us a calendar; they had several things scheduled. They had a library, a pool table, and a swimming pool. They didn't have any rooms available for us to be able to look at. I saw a couple of rooms as we were walking by looking at the different parts.

Our doctor had Grossmont Gardens on his list, and it's fairly close to where we live -- about 7 miles away. I think it was the most convenient. It is like a hotel; it's quite large but it's an older building. I think they have been in business about 50 years. It just seemed about the best we have visited; we have visited about four or five others, and it seemed the best the first time. This is a very difficult time for us, and hopefully we made the right decision. He has a lot of limitations so he needs a lot of help, and I have been a little bit disappointed with some other things but we are still trying to work things out. He is not happy there as he didn't want to go in the first place. I have been trying for a week to schedule a haircut, and it's just seemed like I am still not quite sure how you schedule a haircut also there was a little maintenance that needs to be done in the room and it has been three weeks since I told them about that and that still wasn't done.

I liked Grossmont Gardens the best. The location was good for me because it was close to my home; it was right off the freeway; and it was right next to where I go to the doctor. The food was way better than some of the places I went to and their prices were extremely reasonable. They were more affordable and better quality, and everyone was smiling and happy, and engaged with the way they were showing me the place. They seemed sincerely happy there. Though my brother hasn't seen the place, they mailed him a brochure and he agreed with me that it was the best pick for him. The other thing was that they had a lot of outdoor space. They had these little gardens and they were aesthetically pleasing. Everyone was really warm and friendly. It is an older facility and is built on a hill, so I would rate it a 4 based on the accessibility and the fact that things are little run-down here and there.

Grossmont Gardens is nice. it has a swimming pool, and my cousin liked that. They didn't have any rooms for us to look at. I think it was too big for her and overwhelming. I don't think she felt like they wanted her there. The dining facilities were very good, as well as the food. They talked about the activities. The facility is excellent, but it wasn't for my cousin.

We liked Grossmont Gardens, but the price was a little steep. At the time we moved my mother into another facility, they were offering a discount so she could save a certain amount of money each month on her fees. The rooms were fine. I can't say that they're really roomy, but then that's how it is. Everything looked clean. It looked like pleasant surroundings. We might have selected that as the place for my mother to live, except for the price. That was the main consideration. My sister and mother found the food to be OK.

Mom is in the independent area of Grossmont Gardens while my dad is in their memory care unit. We chose it for its location, cost, and services. The food there is amazing. They have a full salad bar every meal and a menu that you can choose from. They really do a good job. My mom was not really pleased with my dad's care in the memory care unit, but the facility and the activities were all wonderful.

My mother is in Grossmont Gardens. Their care is very nice, the people are very thoughtful, and they're right on top of everything. She's getting excellent care there from very friendly people. It's older than most of the other places that are out there or that we looked at, but they keep the gardens very nice and it looks just fine. But it isn't a new facility, that's for sure. Because of the COVID thing, they aren't doing very much, and they're rather boring around there. And I think it would have a higher rating if it weren't pandemic time. The activities are almost nonexistent. They played bingo daily, and mom says you can only play so much bingo. They don't have much getting together, but that's due to the current situation. The staff is doing a good job. They have a beauty salon, they have a library, and they have a little store.

I am living in Grossmont Gardens, and I've been here for about a year and a half now. It's a nice community, and I like it here. I have a studio with a kitchen and a bathroom. The staff is great. It's difficult right now because we can't go to the dining room, but the staff delivers three meals a day if you want it. The food is OK. It's just really a nice place. When we're not in COVID, the grounds are wonderful to walk and there's plenty of sidewalks to walk on. The people are very nice, and it's easy to make friends if that's what you want. I'm very happy here. I actually have somebody to help me with my shower, which I don't really need, but I don't wanna fall. I have laundry and I have housekeeping, and that's still considered independent. I also do my own meds. I take care of myself other than those things.

Grossmont Gardens is an old established community with really nice landscaping which my mom really likes. It's got nice spacious rooms for a pretty affordable price and a couple different dining halls, which is good for her. She likes the food there and the people are real friendly and help her out. There's a daily exercise that my mom participates in and a swimming pool that they can do water exercises in. There's a library, craft activities, weekly church services, and weekly bus tours to different parts of San Diego. She is on a plan that includes medication deliveries, and laundry and housecleaning is available. There's a kitchenette inside the room and a refrigerator.

I didn't care for Grossmont Gardens. The staff was rude, and the facility is very run down and not well taken care of at all. The food seemed adequate. The one room that was shown to me was actually filthy which was I was completely shocked by. The bathroom fixtures in both rooms I saw have not been updated, were less than adequate, and in very bad repair. It is in such disrepair, and because of the conditions, I would consider it expensive.

I was not impressed with Grossmont Gardens at all. It was kind of old and a little bit rundown. When you walk in the building, they have people slumped over in wheelchairs, and it's not a great thing to see. It smelled like an old building, and it needed to be updated, but the cleanliness was OK. The apartments had 2 burner stoves, but the kitchens were really tiny, and the biggest refrigerator you could put in is 3 feet tall.

I have selected Grossmont Gardens. I like the unit because it has a walk-in closet, a bigger living room, and a good-sized bedroom. I am in the independent living area. Everybody at Grossmont Gardens was very nice, but it seemed outdated, and the hallways were outside which will not be suitable for my mom. They had a library room where people were playing games and reading. They had another room for exercises, little shows, and other activities.

All the buildings there at Grossmont Gardens are made of stones. You have to pay to do your own laundry. They have pay washers and dryers, and I didn't like that. The rooms were small but feasible. They have lots of activities. I did eat lunch there. Lunch was very good, and it was served promptly. A lot of the people liked the lunch because it was enjoyable. I liked that they have elevators and a balcony.
