Don’t Overload Your PC with Security Software

Reader Steve uses a program named Vipre Premium to keep his Microcomputer secure. The suite offers anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spyware, a firewall, netmail protection–essentially, the works. Just Steve also runs Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. And Microsoft Security Essentials (though with real-clock time security turned soured). Steve's question: should he change by reversal along MSE's real-time auspices and "run it concurrently with Vipre?" Short answer: no. Definitely not. In fact, I'd state Steve is running too much protection software as IT is. And that's a inferior mistake. For starters, the Vipre retinue is more adequate. I can see retention Malwarebytes Opposed-Malware available just in case some transmission sneaks through, but if you're using the Pro version–which, unlike its freebie sibling, offers echt-time scanning–then it's competing with Vipre. In fact, when you lap security products same that, they can seriously wallop system performance and even incorrectly recognize for each one other as being a threat. My advice: keep your security tools to a bare minimum. Cap that off with Microsoft Security measur Essentials and web browser plug-in Web of Trust, and you've got yourself a nearly bulletproof Microcomputer.
